Belt Drives


Dover Artificial Lift’s Oil Lift belt drive couples a belt-driven PCP drive head with an oil-immersed centrifugal braking system for a safe and controlled backspin. Each drive is equipped with Dover Artificial Lift’s patented top-mounted, field-serviceable Zero Spill® stuffing box and is compatible with our proprietary continuous rod technology.

Our belt drives come in various motor sizes and rod load ratings, depending on the application requirements.

  • The B500 belt drive has a maximum motor size of 40 hp/1,200 rpm and maximum recommended speed of 500 rpm. The drive also has a thrust bearing Ca 90 rating of 25,900 lbs and polished rod load rating of 13,700 lbs at 250 rpm for 50,000 hours.
  • The B1000 drive has a maximum motor size of 75 hp/1,200 rpm and a recommended speed of 500 rpm. The drive has a thrust bearing Ca 90 rating of 33,500 lbs and a polished rod load rating of 17,800 lbs at 250 rpm for 50,000 hours.
  • The B1200 drive has a maximum motor size of 125 hp/1,200 rpm and a thrust bearing Ca 90 rating of 33,500 lbs. Its polished rod load rating is 17,800 lbs at 250 rpm for 50,000 hours.
  • The B1200 Twin belt drive basically consists of two B1200 drives connected in series. This configuration affords a maximum motor size of 2 x 75 hp and maximum polished rod torque of 2,600 ft-lb. The drive has a thrust bearing Ca 90 rating of 73,300 lbs and rod load rating of 31,000 lbs at 250 rpm for 50,000 hours.
  • The HTD 900 belt drive includes an HTD cogged belt with a 4-to-1 sheave ratio. The drive has a maximum rod torque of 1,000 ft-lb and maximum speed of 450 rpm, depending on the hydraulic system.
